Role Overview
The Junior Data Engineer will support data warehousing, business intelligence and database projects. Responsibilities include ETL/ELT development, Power BI solutions, requirements analysis, software validation, application development and end-user support.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with data warehousing, business intelligence and databases including Snowflake and SQL Server.
- Support ETL and ELT development using dbt, Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
- Design, develop and support business intelligence systems using Microsoft Power BI.
- Collect, analyze and document user requirements.
- Participate in software validation through test plans, cases and scripts.
- Follow software development lifecycle processes from requirements through maintenance.
- Communicate with team members regarding projects, development tools and procedures.
- Provide end-user application setup, installation and maintenance support.
Eligibility & Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
- Internship experience in Data or Software Engineering.
- Knowledge of dimensional data models, Star Schema and Snowflake schema concepts.
- Solid ETL development and reporting knowledge.
- Knowledge of Snowflake, Fivetran and dbt is preferred.
- Knowledge of Python and REST APIs.
- Basic knowledge of SQL Server databases is required.
- C# and Azure development knowledge is a bonus.
- Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills.
